PickMe Partners with University of Moratuwa to Drive Indigenous Innovation in Sri Lanka’s Mobility Tech Sector

PickMe has entered into a landmark research collaboration with the University of Moratuwa’s Department of Transport Management & Logistics Engineering (TMLE) to establish the Smart Mobility Laboratory — a state-of-the-art space designed to spark innovation, creativity, and real-world solutions for Sri Lanka’s transportation challenges. Aligned with PickMe’s purpose, this collaboration moves beyond adapting foreign technologies, focusing instead on homegrown mobility solutions tailored for our people and cities — creating joyful mobility.

The official opening ceremony was held on the 28th of August 2025 with the participation of PickMe Founder & CEO Jiffry Zulfer, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. J.A. Manatunge, Head of the TMLE Department Prof. Niles Perera, Emeritus Prof. Amal Kumarage, PickMe’s Chief Rides Operations Officer Yasas Kasthuriarachchi, along with distinguished guests from industry, academia, and the student community.
